Malcolm Ethridge is an Executive Vice President at CIC Wealth Management, based in the Washington, D.C. area. As a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), Malcolm’s areas of expertise include retirement planning, investment portfolio development, insurance, equity compensation and other executive benefits. He leverages that expertise to help senior managers and executives in technology make sense of some of the most complex financial situations that working professionals tend to face. As fiduciary financial advisors, Malcolm and his planning team are not in the business of selling products. They offer their clients honest, unbiased advice for a reasonable fee.

In addition to his duties as a financial planner, Malcolm is active in several community service organizations as both a board member and/or mentor. Malcolm is very passionate about the case for teaching financial literacy in schools, and the transformative effects it can have on young people. He has weighed in on the formation of programming designed to help give high school and college students a strong financial foundation and works to increase awareness of the financial planning profession on college campuses everywhere.

Malcolm is also the host and executive producer of the Tech Money Podcast; the place where tech workers come to get smarter about their money. On the show, Malcolm interviews subject matter experts on traditional personal finance topics such as investing, taxes, stock options, and real estate just to name a few. New episodes are released on Wednesdays and are available across all major podcasting platforms.

As a very proud Aggie Alum, Malcolm holds a Bachelor’s degree from North Carolina A&T State University, where he studied marketing and management. Malcolm lives in Washington, D.C. with his wife and daughter, and in his free time, he enjoys training for his next marathon, downhill skiing, and reading.

In addition to his duties as a financial planner, Malcolm has conducted several workshops and seminars, given keynotes, and moderated panel discussions all around issues related to personal finance and investing. He is a sought after speaker on topics such as “The Power of Owning Equity” and “Financial Independence Doesn’t Happen On Accident.”

The Tech Money Podcast

This is the show where all things technology and personal finance collide. Hosted by CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, speaker, blogger, and self-proclaimed personal finance nerd Malcolm Ethridge, this show seeks to make the audience just a little bit smarter about their money, all from the perspective of the tech professional.

On the show, Malcolm interviews subject matter experts on traditional personal finance topics such as investing, taxes, equity compensation, real estate, insurance, etc. However, Malcolm also likes to mix things up by interviewing guests who are working on interesting projects in the realm of career advancement, mindfulness, entrepreneurship, and philanthropy.
